Regardless of where we come from, the color of our skin, or where we live, I believe in empathy and solidarity, because everyone matters, even people we don’t know.

I believe in decency, rather than fear and hate.

I believe in mutual responsibility in addition to individual responsibility, because we live together in this great country, and that cooperative self-government is the way we accomplish what is best for all.

I believe in fundamental freedoms, how we express ourselves, who we love, and control over our own bodies. I believe that religion should be free from government interference.

I believe in democracy. I believe in the freedom to vote, and in fair elections where voters and our election workers are free from intimidation. I believe we should count every last vote. I believe in electing leaders that serve us and not special interests. I believe corporations and billionaires should not be able to give unlimited amounts of money to buy politicians or elections. I do not believe the opposition is my enemy. I believe in the peaceful transition of power.

I believe in economic fairness. I believe our economic system should work for everyone. When we work hard, we should be paid enough to take care of ourselves or raise a family. I believe the wealthy should pay taxes according to the level of their wealth. I believe out-of-control corporate greed is raising prices and making it hard for the average family to stay even. I believe everyone should be able to afford a home or decent housing. I believe health care is a human right.

I believe public funds belong in public schools, because we have an obligation to educate every child in our country. I believe everyone should be able to get an education or training they need to live a successful and fulfilling life. I believe no child should be told there is something wrong with them because of who they are. I believe those that want to go to college should be free from crushing debt.

I believe most of us are decedents of immigrants and that immigrants are essential to our culture, our economy, and that’s what makes us great. I believe we can develop a plan for a secure entry into our country and that we should stop playing the politics of fear with the border.

I believe we need to stabilize our climate and reduce dangerous and destructive weather. I believe we should be able to breath clean air, drink clean water and have a safe secure future for our families and children because we are dependent on the earth and environment. I believe we must transition away from polluting fossil fuels as fast as possible to clean inexpensive renewable energy.

I believe in the truth over lies, compassion over hate, and that strength isn’t related to the size of one’s… ego.

I believe we are an already great but imperfect country, and that regardless of who we elect, we must strive to make our country better. I will fight for these things.

Thanks for all you do.

We are all connected. Savor the Earth!’™
